KIDS ACADEMY:

ACTING CLASSES FOR KIDS

• The emphasis is preparing for acting work with a balance of fun and skills that children can have for the rest of their lives.
• We stress focus, clarity and variety in the work.
• We want to show you how to bring more of yourself to each role and how to dig out and discover the truth. You will learn how to build characters with depth and honesty.
• You will understand the importance of how to analyze scripts and how to translate all of it to your auditions and to your preparation so you are work ready in today's competitive TV and film climate.

CLASS STRUCTURE

Everyone works in class, every class.
Classes will have an emphasis on scene study but will also include warm up games, improv, auditions and monologues. Short scenes are given out in cold read fashion, you're given prep time to plug in choices and then you will put the scene up. You will not rehearse with scene partners outside of class. In the real world of showbiz, you are given little time to prepare. Scenes are brought back the next class memorized and worked out.
Class meets once a week for 3 hours, but you may audit other classes as well.
